| Programme Alßan aims at the reinforcement of the European Union-Latin America co-operation in the area of Higher Education and covers studies for postgraduates as well as higher level training for Latin American professionals/future decision-makers, in institutions or centres in the European Union. Further to opening-up of the European Higher Education Area to Latin Americans, Alßan scholarships will contribute to improve employability skills and career opportunities for Latin American postgraduates and professionals in their own countries. Education and training in the European Union will take place in the context of mobility projects involving universities, higher education Institutions and centres and other organisations, including enterprises interested in the training or upgrading of their staff. A network of former scholarship holders will be created, Alumni Network, based in the mobility experiences of Latin-Americans who benefited from an education/training scholarship in the European Union. This network will also be open to former scholarship holders of the ALFA Programme, as well as to other Latin American students or professionals that may have benefited from co-operation programmes between the two regions. |
